Backwoods is a hybrid board for powder and freeride which prefers trees, powder and steep slopes. Like most powder plates, the backwoods has a very wide nose and a tapered tail, but it is differentiated by a mid-stiffe flex, our preeride profile prevailing and only 10mm of setback. This combination allows the board to be agile in the trees, reliable on the mud and floating in the deep snow. A powerful nucleus composed of poplars and bamboo helps keep this board flexible and nervous, while carbon surgeons of the heel spatula give it a little more elasticity. The topsheet Rugged Nylon based on castor seeds helps evacuate snow and adds sustainability while the Sintered 4001 base offers high -end speed in a minimalist black design to create flawless repairs. All this allows backwoods to tear the powder while remaining efficient in variable conditions, when you go from one place to another.
On this model, we use ultraclips 2.0 Karakoram with active locking, installed with our basic technology without hole, to create a most reactive wrinkle.
With the Series mission, Weston has teamed up with Crystal World, a native Tlingit Alaska artist and owner of the Trickster Company, as well as Zeal Optics, Smartwool, Pret and Mountainflow Eco Wax as part of the Haa Aaní Alliance. This alliance has been set up to create the Salmon Way of Life collaboration, which aims to restore and preserve watercourses and salmon spawning grounds, not only in Alaska, but also worldwide.
